Definition: VoIP (Voice over IP) (Part 2)

A technology that routes voice calls and SMS messages over the internet rather than traditional cellular networks.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) allows users to make calls and send texts using broadband internet instead of standard copper wires or mobile cellular towers. While cheap and highly scalable, VoIP lines are easily flagged and blocked by security filters during account registrations.
